Club Dinner 2017

Event Report
Westwood Hotel - Nov 8

The annual club dinner took place in the Westwood Hotel, as usual, this year. This is a chance for the rowers to let their hair down (literally) and to have a fun night with their clubmates, coaches, and friends.

The boys set a new tradition, this year, making the extra effort of dressing in shirts and ties. The girls, as always, made no less of an effort and everyone looked really well.

Some small speeches were given and gifts of appreciation were presented to the coaches by their crews. Daragh Coen was awarded the well-deserved title of 'Club person of the year' for the second year running. Below is a picture of him being presented with the award by Fr. Murt Curry - a former Jes teacher, and club coach. Murt is the man responsible for introducing and developing women's rowing in CIRC.

The rest of the evening was given over to enjoying some good food, chat, and generally having fun in a relaxed athmosphere. And Ed Bell was on hand to take lots of photos, which can be seen below.
